Student Teaching

Millersville has an in-depth student teaching year called Secondary Education Professional Development School (PDS). The PDS program is to allow students the oppurtunity to teach year long while still finishing their class work.

Fall PDS Program

15-Week Intensive Program - 200+ Field Experience Hours

Creation and Implementation of 1 Mini Lesson: Gears Lesson

Creation and Implementation of 1 Mini Unit: Sound Unit

I did my Fall PDS placement at Hempfield High School every Monday, Wednesday and Friday

After teaching hours were finished, I went back to campus to finish my major/minor related classes

in the evenings and on Tuesday and Thursdays.

Spring Student Teaching

Creation of 1 Full Unit at Hempfield High School: Complex Machines

Creation and Implementation of 1 Full Unit At Manheim Township: Personal Logo Design

I did my Spring student teaching placement at Hempfield High School through March ( 9-Weeks) and switched to Manheim Township Middle School, April through May (6-Weeks)

After teaching hours were finished, I went back to campus to attend my seminars for student teaching.
